Team racing
The Team Racing aspect is unique to our Team Challenge events. Every driver is part of a two-man team, consisting of exactly one Chevrolet, and one Ford GT. Points are awarded to each driver separately based on their class finishing positions. Penalty points are subtracted when a driver has too much incidents in the race (see below). The final team score is simply the sum of each driver's points after subtracting penalties. The overall winner of the race is therefore meaningless, only the final position of your team is what counts!
Team mates
You can choose your own team mate if you wish. If you do not have a team mate you can just sign up on your own, and you will be grouped with other drivers semi-randomly by us (we will try to balance the teams a little bit in this case). If you create a team make sure that the drivers you add to your team agree with that decision, do not add drivers to your team without their knowledge!
In case too many people sign up with the same car we will not be able to make the teams. Therefore, your car choice (in case you sign up on your own) will only be a primary car choice, and you may be assigned the other car when the teams are made so that we can make the teams. First come, first serve will apply in this case.
Points
Points are awarded for class finishing positions of each driver separately. Final team position is decided by the sum of points of all three drivers, after subtracting possible penalties. In case of a draw between teams, the team with the least amount of combined incidents wins. If there is still a draw in that case, the fastest laptime will decide the winner.
Points awarded simply start at 40 points for the class winner, and decrease by 1 point for every lower position then 5th: 40, 35, 30, 28, 27, 26, 25 ...
In addition to that we subtract penalty points for incidents:
< 6x: No penalty
6-10x: -2 points
11-15x: -4 points
16-20x: -8 points
21-25x: -10 points
> 25x: -15points
Points can only be scored in the 2nd race, but incident points count also in the sprint race. The total incidents are both races added together.
Example: in the sprint race you score 2 incidents points, and in the main race you score 9 incidents, you will have a total of 11 incidents points. After the main race, you will loose 5 points for you team. So winning the main race, you will then only score 35 points for your team.
During the race a live team timing will be available, but will not take into account the incident penalties! These will be subtracted after the race and before price giving at the racespot teamspeak server at the end of the broadcast.
Live marshals
There will be live marshals during the whole race. They will penalize drivers who do not behave according the 'Official Sporting Code' during the race. They can give stop&go or stop&hold penalties to drivers.
In the unlikely event that the track gets blocked the marshals can throw in a safety car.
Live information
During the event, live details like timings, broadcast and more can be found here: http://www.got-racing.eu/live/
Restrictions
Unfortunately, we feel mandated to impose a small minimum license restriction before you are eligible to race.
Minimum road license: C class
Minimum road iRating: 1500
Gathering of Tweakers community members who do not meet these restrictions may be allowed to race at the discretion of the organization.
Podium after the Chequered Flag
The marshalls will calculate the final scoring (with incident penalty points) as fast as possible after the race and provide the results to Racespot TV. Just before price giving at the broadcast channel Racespot TV will show the final results. The winning team is invited to join the Racespot TV teamspeak server for a short interview. Details on how to join their server will be in the PM with the password of the race. Registration To register, please respond in the following format below
